FAQs

Are your products dangerous?

All of our products have been tested for customer safety. Our products are completely safe to be applied externally.

how are your prices so much cheaper than your competitors?

Most of our competitor brands buy their products from a manufacturer who has to make a profit from the brand. Since we manufacture all of our own products, we pass the savings onto our customers.

how do i best use your products

Grime Reaper Liquid Soap:

Directions: Apply to body, hands or hard surface then rinse off thoroughly.

Dr. Deth's Body Wash:

Directions: Apply to body, and then rinse off thoroughly.

For best results: Lather soap in hands then cover body with soap. Apply to underarm area first. Wait 2 to 10 minutes for body wash to gently deodorize your body, and provide excellent moisture control to your skin.  Then wash off thoroughly.

Are your products natural?

There is no official definition of the word "Natural" in cosmetics unfortunately but we like to think our products are natural based.

why are your products so effective?

It's a combination of fully dosed ingredients, testing and science. We use at least the supplier recommendation formulation amounts to dose our ingredients appropriately, unlike other brands who list an ingredient but has very little of it in the product.

why amber glass bottles?

Glass is recyclable and provides our products with great chemical and light protection to help preserve shelf life of our products

why does my product have dark spots in it

If the product is Grime Reaper Liquid Soap, its more than likely the activated charcoal that needs to be shaken up in the container before use.

If it is one of our Dr. Deth's products then both of the preservatives we use are both light and pH sensitive. One of the downsides of it being exposed to light or pH above 7 is a darkening effect which looks like small dark flecks or even pink and grey tinting of the product.  This discoloration doesn't decrease the effectiveness of the ingredient, just simply changes the color. We like to ship our product out from us directly to ensure there is no light or high pH exposure.

how does your products compare to competitors?

They are cheaper, more effective, and less harsh than our competitors. We will attach a comparison guide soon for each of our products.

what charities and organizations do you give your profits to?

We give a total of 10% of our profits to these organizations.

why not amazon prime?

There is two reasons for this.

1. We make our products after order is placed so we only participate in fulfillment by merchant and not fulfillment by amazon on the amazon platform.

2. We have to ship out our products from us directly so we can ensure the product is not exposed to extreme temperatures, or light that could occur elsewhere. Our products are temperature, pH, and Light Sensitive.

what preservatives do you use?

We are always testing out the effectiveness of the preservatives we use. All of our products use a natural formulation of preservatives. Since Grime Reaper is a castile soap that has a high pH, low water content since its very concentrated, and high essential oil percentage, it doesn't need a dedicated preservative. We have done microbial testing on all of our products. For Dr. Deth's products, we use a mixture of Reindeer Lichen Extract, and Silver or Probiotic Cultures depending on the product. We are always experimenting with different preservatives and their effectiveness to provide other benefits besides microbial protection. No phenoxyethanol, sodium benzoate or any other commonly used preservative. Phenoxyethanol is actually a great preservative but we have decided not to use it in our products currently.

ingredients we don't use and why

Cocamidopropyl betaine / Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine:

Both of these ingredients are DMAPA (Dimethylaminopropylamine) Derivatives that could still contain a small amount of DMAPA in the ingredient.

Benzoate salts (Sodium benzoate / Potassium benzoate):

Benzoate salts are good ingredients to use, but we don't use them since there are better multipurpose preservatives out there. There is always a chance that our customer could mix these salts with other products to create a chemical reaction that could produce benzene so we try to minimize that risk.

Phenoxyethanol:

Phenoxyethanol is a great preservative as its a nonionic preservative that's compatibility is unmatched with almost no downsides besides allergic reaction. We don't use this ingredient simply because there are other multipurpose preservatives that do a great job at preserving our products while producing other benefits that we are looking for.

Sulfates:

Sulfates are strong surfactants, a little too strong for our taste as they can strip natural oils from your skin but not remove certain oils, grease, or any other hard to remove filth that our Grime Reaper Liquid Soap can remove. They also are known to cause irritation and dry skin.

Parabens:

Parabens are good preservatives but we don't use them because there are better multipurpose preservatives out there for what we are looking to work with.

Phthalates:

Phthalates are typically used as solubilizers in cosmetics, but we use multipurpose ingredients that also act as solubilizers so there is no need for one dedicated ingredient to be a solubilizer in our formulas.

Dyes:

We don't use any dyes in our products since it is just a filler ingredient for a certain aesthetic look. They can be also used to hide discoloration, or any spoilage of a product. We want our customers to see our preservatives in action and that it will keep them safe for the long run.

Fragrance / Parfum:

Since fragrances are considered trade secrets, companies can hide numerous ingredients under this. A lot of these hidden ingredients have multipurpose uses such as phenoxyethanol being used as preservative under the hidden fragrance ingredient. Even if the fragrance says it is "body safe" it doesn't mean that it won't cause irritation, allergic reaction or any other negative effects since we don't know what's in it. We want to be transparent with all of our ingredients so we avoid this dilemma by only using essential oils for our scents. You know exactly what you are getting from us.

Expiration Date?

Grime Reaper is good for up to 1 year after being manufactured.

Dr. Deth's Body Wash is good for up to 1 year after being manufactured.

Kid Safe?

Use on children is not recommended due to amount of essential oils but our products are generally considered kid safe, but not tear safe.

Please review the ingredient list of the product since certain essential oils, or ingredients can produce skin irritation, contact dermatitis or allergic reaction.

Discontinue use and consult a medical physician if you have any of these symptoms after use.

Order Shipping

Each product is handcrafted after each order has been made. This can take between 1 to 10 business days depending on volume to create your product for us. Most products are manufactured and shipped same day. A subscription model is in the works to help combat this wait time while offering a discount.

We try our best to manufacture and ship out the soonest we can. It also means that your product is usually good for a year after you have received the product since it is freshly made.

Why is my scent gone?

Because we scent with essential oils, means that the scents will typically last at least 6 months to a year. Essential oils will naturally oxidize and the scents will disappear eventually.

There are other factors that can remove the scent such as adding or combining our product with water or another product. Direct exposure to sunlight will degrade the product. Keeping the bottle open or using the product in a hot environment will also degrade the product.

Keeping it in the shower is perfectly fine and should not affect the product unless it is directly exposed to hot water for a long duration of time. Please close the pump when not in use to maximize essential oils longevity.
